Some people celebrate Kwanzaa or Hanukkah, but in my house we celebrate Christmas. This is how we celebrate Christmas in my house. We wake up early in the morning from my dad saying, “Ho-Ho has been here! Ho-Ho has been here!” Then we run down stairs to the Christmas tree. One of our traditions is whoever finds the pickle orniment that is on the Christmas tree first gets to open the first present. After the first gift is opened, then everyone can open their gifts. This is when it gets kind of crazy! Wrapping paper and boxes go everywhere. What fun!
In the morning my mom makes us lunch while my sister and I play with our Christmas toys. My mom makes ham, turkey, stuffing, and pink fluff along with multiple cakes and pies. We usually have all of our family sit at the dinning room table and my father usually prays and then we all eat. I really eat a lot and get extremely full! After lunch we go to the movies. This is my favorite part of the day. I enjoy going to the movie theatre because we usually don’t go often. After the movies we go home and eat left overs. That is how we celebrate Christmas in my house.
What do you do for Christmas and what do you celebrate?
